The
Muskoka Lantern
is a reproduction of an
1850s walking lantern.
Its rebirth is due to
Steve's love of history
and sense of adventure.
Steve joined a Civil War
Reenactment group and travelled throughout the United States and Canada
reenacting battles as a way of teaching history. This lantern was used by troops
and civilians alike to light their way at night.
This simple yet practical lantern has moved from the 19th century into the
21st century with purpose and ease.
Constructed today in the same manner as the original, using simple
doweling and pinning, it can be used both indoors or outdoors.
